This means Lacey is the winner! Congratulations and I hope you enjoy your prize. Thank you to everyone who participated in this month's giveaway. Stay tuned for a more Christmas like giveaway next time.
In other happenings, yesterday was spent baking. Here are some fantastic pictures of what was in the oven. All were very tastey. That bread will be made again soon, too.

Photos Friday
Just a few comments. Above is the Tigress batt all spun up, twist set, and tensioned. It measures 50 yards. This will be the edge work of this pattern - > HERE. Then we have the cookies my step-daughter and I baked on Wednesday night. We had a lot of fun.
The shop was updated tonight. Unfortunately there were a couple things left off of the update. The Jellyfishing braid didn't have a picture, and I had a cuddle butt take up a lot of my time. Izzy is over tonight and full of the cuddling need. So, before bed we sat down and cuddled while watching the first period of the Hawks vs Avs game. It was good. There will be a secondary update this week.
Now it is finally time for bed. Good night!

Sleeping In
Hooray for sleep! Three cheers for sleeping in until 1 pm. What no cheers? For the past couple of weeks sleep has been a precious comodity around my apartment. Our neighbor's one year old is still not sleeping through the night. People tell me every child is different. My niece slept through the night by about 7 or 8 months old and so did I. My sister took a little bit longer, but not by much. Peter slept throught the night around the same time as we did. Stephanie even slept through the night before one year. So it's rather aggravating. More so aggravating because other people's children should not be keeping me up at night. Due to that Photos Firday has been canceled. Our living room has been converted into our second bedroom and is in need of some serious cleaning. Right now we need to vacuum and organize. :)
We're also getting ready for a second and even larger Beltane celebration. Children are not allowed so I can be as tipsy or bubbly as can be. It's been a while and I love mead. It'll have to wait until after the spinning demonstration. We are also selling some handspun yarn and handpainted roving there.
Today I purchased some unfinished top whorl drop spindles. Within the next month or so I am going to start offering drop spindle kits. It'll be a spindle and 6 oz of fiber broken up into 3-2 ounce bundles. It'll be a sampler of the different wools I carry. The kit will also give a set of instructions and a link to a great group of instructional videos. They'll probably be left unfinished so that everyone can customize their own drop spindle, but Peter might take a couple and decorate and stain them.
In a few weeks I am going to be working out some business credit lines. This way I can purchase more wool, dyes and other supplies. The biggest thing to come out of this whole venture is the umbrella for all of my little etsy shops, etc. It is LMS Studios. LylianMae Fiber Artistry will be a division of the LMS Studios (Soon to be LLC). Then if I decide to sell ceramics, art, jewelry, etc. later on that can be another division of LMS Studios. Everything covered under LMS Studios will be anything studio art. For instance, I have mugs that were purchased at the Dollar Tree and decorated with Porcelane markers. That would fall under a new branch of the umbrella. Eventually it will happen, but not certain when. Single drop spindles will be another branch.
Congratulations to mamatwitch! She won the raffle for a Bee Bar from Honey House. The poll closed and Lavender is the herb of choice for the new Reiki distance healing dolls. :) There will be a new poll up later this week.

Windy and windier
Photos Friday was canceled. Unfortunately the wind kept me from going out and taking pictures. I really wanted to go to the local conservation park and take some shots of the ducks, geese, trees and anything else that struck my fancy. Don't worry. I'll make it up to you with photos of tomorrow's Beltane festival.
For those of you who don't know what Beltane is, I've included a link to Wikipedia's version. However, our celebration has a few differences because a Grove ADF Druids. Here is our take on the festival of Beltane.
Having that said, we have a load of things to do. After the two dye days, which is a lot of clean up, we have to ready the food and put finishing touches on the ritual. Peter and I will be officiating this ritual so the work load for that is double. We'll be heading out a lot earlier than normal so the may pole can be dug out of the garage and set up. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us enough to set it up and dance around in the side yard. This maypole is going to be much smaller than the one used at our friend's Beltane celebration. All the maidens had to move a telephone pole to its hole in the ground. Let's talk about heavy! Just think we'll be doing it again on the 8th this year. Ready the muscles!
There is still a whole lot of wool on the drying racks. When I'm not readying for tomorrow, it'll be the wool braid-a-thon. And again, tomorrow will be a braid-a-thon. There are some great colorways that turned out. Some of them will not be repeatable. :( I'm wondering how on Earth this Agate color came out. Most of my experimentals will not be available as a repeat, either. It will be noted which colorways will not be repeated. More than likely "LIMITED EDITION" will be in the title. I'm introducing two different types of fiber this week, too. The first being a Merino 64s. Then the long awaited Rambouillet. There will only be four braids of the Rambouillet for now. I'm hoping on a line of credit to order a full bump of it this week. ::crosses fingers::
The fifth colorway I created is another Sailor Moon colorway. Think Sailor Jupiter! Yeah, buddy! It will be out in Rambouillet and Merino. The other mix and match colorways still need names.
Rememer there will be another shop update on Monday or Tuesday. I'll twitter and facebook when the shop is being updated. So, stay tuned!
