Tonight was Seed Collection Orientation with the McHenry County Conservation District. I've decided to donate my time and attention to detail to the prairie restoration effort. Each Friday we'll receive an email about the collection sites and times for the week. Then we'll have a chance to respond and collect seed.
In addtion to this effort I may be joining the non-costume volunteers at Trail of History. This covers the events of the 18th century in Northern Illinois. It's a fun and educational event.
MCCD is also looking for other indoor help, too. Hooray! So hopefully I can help out all year round. Connecting with the land is a great feeling.
