Roving Update

Unholy - Rambouillet
Abandonment - Merino/Tencel

Hope you like this little sneak peak of the update. It is going to be pushed back to Friday to get one more dye day in. Tomorrow I've got a couple more colorways to bring into fruition.

Also, in the past couple of days I've got two braids of Merino/Cashmere/Silk spun up from Cloudlover. It's a fantastic blend of roving. Fantastic!!

Also, I spun up the November Batt Club from Lai Grai. Of course it is fantastic and corespun. I find corespinning with art batts to be much easier than regular spinning techniques. The need to correct diameter is at a minimum. ;)

So, there it is. :) In a recap, Friday will be a roving update. I'm not sure what time, just yet, but definitely in the afternoon.

Photos Friday

Just a few comments. Above is the Tigress batt all spun up, twist set, and tensioned. It measures 50 yards. This will be the edge work of this pattern - > HERE. Then we have the cookies my step-daughter and I baked on Wednesday night. We had a lot of fun.

The shop was updated tonight. Unfortunately there were a couple things left off of the update. The Jellyfishing braid didn't have a picture, and I had a cuddle butt take up a lot of my time. Izzy is over tonight and full of the cuddling need. So, before bed we sat down and cuddled while watching the first period of the Hawks vs Avs game. It was good. There will be a secondary update this week.

Now it is finally time for bed. Good night!

Core Spinning

The current issue of Spin-off has an article about adding core spinning to your spinning repitoire. After debating on what to do with the texture batt from Lai Grai and the mohair locks from Bricolage, they are now in action.

I am creating a core spun yarn with extra bits of fluff. Here is how it is shaping up on the wheel.

Isn't it fantastic? There is about a 1/3 of the batt left to spin. I am having a hard time keeping some of the fibers spread apart to lay on top of each other nicely. Eventually it will be okay.

This yarn is going to be a fantastic hat for someone.
