Trendsetting Tuesday

This is a new segment I'm starting for all the neat finds on Artfire & Etsy. My first find is this cloud collection on Artfire. We're halfway through the dark, but those spring skies couldn't get here fast enough for my cloud and storm chasing habbits.

On Etsy I found a Treasury called Seasons in Photography. It's a fantastic gallery of images.

I'm in love with each of these prints! They are fantastic in their own little way.

Shop Update & More...

The first of many things, who won!?
The winner of the September giveaway is ::drum roll:: Little Miss S. Congratulations!! I'll be sending you a message shortly. Thank you for participating, everyone! Next giveaway will be next month. (Hint: Christmas is coming sooner than you think.) Yeah it might be a bit early, but have you ever seen a sheep dressed up as a pumpkin? Hmm...now this gives me pause. ::hamsters are turning the wheels in my head::
This past evening was the small shop update. I made the decision late in the game because of another doctor appointment and the events that followed. (Pinched nerve in my neck and back area required xrays. Groceries needed to be bought as well as prescription pick up.)
Grigoriy - SW BFL
In addition to the shop update, I've started a destash on Ravelry. There are some of my hand painted braids that didn't quite turn out the way I planned there as well as other dyers.

Oh, almost forgot to mention the sale going on at the shop. From now until 23:59 CDT on Sept. 23rd, there will be a roving and yarn sale. Buy one get the second half off on all roving. All yarn is 15% off.
This week I will be working on artwork for Peter's, my fiance's, shop called Storm Dragon Creations. He changed it, but I think it works out nicely. He'll be selling his own unique brand of stitch markers, row counters and jewelry. Be sure to read his item descriptions as they will be full of funnies, I'm sure.
Ecology & Me (part 2) will be coming very quickly. Thursday of this week, I will be joining a group of people in town to collect some Ratibida pinnata (Yellow cone flower) seed. My goal is to have some pictures taken during our lunch break for all of you to see.

Until then, have a wonderful weekend!

Busy Busy...

It just continues, but in such a great way! Laundry finished and put away, produce shopping done, dishes put away, the back half of Izzy's sweater knitted with front half being worked on and all destash boxes are packed awaiting labeling.

In the background I'm working another give-away opportunity for you all. Stay tuned for amazing details! Think Spongebob Squarepants and fibery goodness. Imagine it. :)

Then out of the blue I got a convo via Etsy regarding the second part of the sillylittlelady collaboration. Here is a sneak preview of the fingerless gloves to go with that fantastic Pagosa Slouch brimmed slouchy beanie. Isn't it lovely! Even better, sillylittlelady has made the length an option you the knitter decide. How cool is that?

So now here I sit at my computer relaxing for the first time. Praise the gods for air conditioning! It's after 8:30 PM here and it feels like 93 degrees outside. The wind is blowing, which is our only saving grace at this point. The weather is going to be even worse tomorrow, but alas more air conditioning. Praise the air conditioning gods! Hail thee "A" and "C"! Praise the electricity gods, as well. For it is they Com and Ed who provide A and C with the power to bring such wonders to us. They who graced Mr. Edison with the holy concept of electricy are great and masterful. Yeah, I've lost it. Must drink more water and get to some dishes and garbage/recycling collecting.

Collaboration UPdate

It's an update because things are moving upward and onward! Today the lovely and amazing Holly P. sent me an awesome convo on etsy. It's pictures of the much awaited and not so debated collaboration project of Triumph.
For those of you who don't remember what Triumph is here is a picture of that delicious Polwarth yarn. :D It's a navajo-plied worsted weight yarn. When knitted it's truly an amazing bit of work. The pattern Holly is creating is truly divine and shows every little flair of color. You can get updates straight from her blog, too.

The next project has been creating a sampler pack of handspun yarn for Dale of The Light Brown Hare. She is promoting her shop via blog give-aways. This month she has a coupon for a free Ben & Jerry's pint. How awesome is that now summer has finally decided to make an appearance, take off her coat and stay a while? Soon she'll be giving away my sampler pack. Here is a sneak peak of that sampler:

Every hank is of DK weight and approximately 40 yards. I'd love to spoil the surprise as to the fiber content, but that's the fun of a sampler pack. However, the full sampler pack includes these three hanks, three buttons, 10 random bags of tea and a pattern.

I hope this leaves you salivating for more. Just think after this give-away has finished some of these kits will be available in the shop. :) With July coming up I want to assure everyone that there will be something coming. That something...let's just say a major handspun yarn update is in order. I've dwelved into the mistifying art of scrap inclusions and came up head first into the realm of awesomness. These enchanted art yarns are seductive and full of the fun you need in the dog days of summer.

Let the creative juices keep on flowing!

Sneak Peak de Fibe-er

I wanted to give you all a sneak peak of all the fun handpainted fibers from this week. My favorite is Boudica. It turned out perfectly.

Agate is my second favorite (picture 1). It is a messed up version of The Magrathean (picture 2). For some reason the superwash fibers took the dye different. The olive became more orange and the grey a blue pink. It still turned out great.

And what kind of Sailor Moon fan would I be without some colorways from the show. This is Love & Beauty Shock. It is a really nice mix of the Sailor Venus costume. The more I look at it the more I get attached to it. ;)

That's all for the sneak peaks here. For more peaks you can go to my flickr site.

Sneaky Little Me

I just couldn't wait until Thursday to update my shop. All this wool is just itching to get out. lol That pun was very very intended. At least it's some pretty wool itching at me. There will be more updated on the expected days. Hopefully I will get a lot of dyeing done on Thursday and Friday with another small shop update on Easter Sunday and Monday evenings.

Hopefully tomorrow my Bee Bars from Honey House will be arriving in the mail. These are great for keeping your hands moisturized without destroying your handspun with gook from lotion. If I can work out a deal with Honey House, these might get put up in the shop. Stand by for giveaways featuring this wonderful product!

Something else arrived at the house yesterday. These are Ecualan wool wash samplers. I am going to include these beauties in with orders from the show. Why not treat your wool right, right?

Keep a weathered eye for all the new things jumping their way into my shop.
